Why Family Law?

Katie became a mother at fourteen and raised her son while building a future no one expected for them. That journey shaped her passion for helping others through some of life’s hardest moments. She knows firsthand how overwhelming it can feel to protect your children while navigating a complicated legal system. Family law is more than her career — it is personal. Katie brings empathy, strength and real-world experience to every case because she knows what it means to fight for your family.

Why Child Welfare?

Katie’s first experience with the child welfare system came during her final semester of undergrad when she interned at the Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County. After graduating with a degree in criminology, she went on to work as a CPS investigator in the very same building. Her time with CPS gave her a deep understanding of how the system works and the real impact it has on families. That experience drives her commitment to support parents, caregivers, and relatives involved with CPS. Katie approaches each case with the same dedication and compassion she brought to her work in the field.

Why Tenants' Rights?

Katie’s commitment to tenants’ rights began in law school, when she nearly died from toxic black mold in a rental home and struggled to find legal help. That experience gave her a deep understanding of how overwhelming housing issues can be. Today, she uses that perspective to guide and protect tenants, making sure their rights are defended and their voices are heard.
